Патч версии 1.0003 так и не смог избавить шутер-долгострой S.T.A.L.K.E.R. от всех его болячек. Однако в GSC Game World уверены, что на теле многострадального пациента найдется местечко ещё для одной заплатки.

Очередное обновление затронет множество существующих проблем, начиная от искусственного интеллекта и заканчивая сетевым режимом. Количество кадров в секунду поднимется на 10-15%, решится проблема с оптимизацией на двухъядерных процессорах. По завершению всех сюжетных квестов игрок сможет продолжить исследование зоны в режиме Freeplay; исчезнет нервное подергивание травы на земле; трупы перестанут уходить по-английски, а объекты больше не будут застревать в стенах и полу. Наконец, появится полноценная поддержка 64-битной Windows Vista, конвертер сохраненных игр и набор юного моддера.

Сроки выхода нового и, надеемся, последнего патча пока неизвестны.
